In 8th grade drama we will be finishing up our unit on creating a complex character. We will be beginning a unit on Shakespeare. The students have selected the play Macbeth. We will explore the language of Shakespeare, his life and times, and his characters and plot in this unit.

This week in 8th grade drama we will be creating monologues for our original complex characters . We will perform our monologues with our group through a series of tableaus. This will complete our character unit. Students will select the Shakespearian play they would like to explore through improvisation and learn about the life and times of William Shakespeare at the end of the week.
This week in 8th grade drama we will be continuing work on our complex characters that we have been developing. We will take our characters to a press conference where a problem the celebrity is having will be explored. Then the celebrity will receive a letter from a friend from their hometown and be reunited with a high school friend, We will begin to create monologues.
In 8th grade drama we are creating original complex characters. We are using a technique called a process drama which is improvisation based.The students have created characters who are famous. During the week the famous people have been to a talk show, met with their agent after a crisis and will be the subject of a press conference.
