This week in 6th grade drama will be finishing off their work on vocal and physical characterization. They will be learning about monologues and creating one for a character. They will be working on the great battle for Narnia and will be working on stage combat choreography. They will learn how actors collaborate to create a battle scene.

This week in 6th grade drama we will meet Aslan and we be working on physical and vocal characterization. We will explore what dramatic tension is and try to identify and play a moment with it. We will continue our work on characterization and dramatic tension in the scene where Aslan makes his sacrifice.
This week in 6th grade drama we will be working on an original scene. We will be creating a backstory for the
beginnings Narnia. We will continue to work on backstory as we create the stories of how the statues came to be turned to stone. We will also learn about how to pass focus within a scene . This week in 6th grade drama we finished the scene where Edmund met the Queen. We are working on being believable. We are also creating a flashback scene. We will create an original scene inspired by the scene from the book that shows a memory of one of the characters.
This week in 6th grade drama we worked on using a subtext for our characters . We improvised the second scene from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. We worked on making comments about the scene that are helpful to the actors.
This week in 6th grade drama we will be working on a small group scene about what was life for the children who were evacuated from London during the Blitz. The scene will be about life after they have been in the village for 3 months. They will finish this drama this week with scenes that examine the different perspectives of the children who live in the village , the host parents, and the children who were evacuated. Then we will do a scene 50 years in the future to see how this experience affected these characters. We will begin our dramatization of The Lion , the Witch and The Wardrobe by exploring the characters in a series of tableaus and explore the setting as the children explore the house of the professor.
This week in 6th grade drama we will start a new unit. We will do a process drama about the Blitz in London during WW II. We will create characters who are children who will be evacuated because of the bombing.
Welcome to drama. This week we will learn about the theatre we work in , the rules and the curriculum. We will play some ensemble building games and we will work on a collaborative scene using the story of The Legacy of the Moor.
This week in 6th grade drama we will be finishing up our rotation. We will complete our final assessment for The Lion , the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We will do a process drama which is a mystery and then we will work on some improvisation.
This week is 6th grade drama we will be working on the great battle for Narnia. We will learn about stage combat and create a whole class battle using choreography techniques. We will learn about the crowning of the kings and queens of Narnia and create an original scene about each of the four children's time as a king or queen. We will create another original scene which will be our assessment for this unit . It will be an original scene that explains some aspect of Narnia.
