This week in 6th grade drama we will be finishing our process drama about the evacuation of children from London during the Blitz in WWII. We will create some scenes that show what happened 3 months after they arrived in the village. We will improvise letters home that demonstrate subtext. We will look at the aftermath of being evacuated. At the end of the week some classes may begin our new unit where we will dramatize the novel The Lion , the Witch and the Wardrobe.

We will have an Introduction to drama, the curriculum, and class procedures. We will play "5 sentence autobiographies." and "Shape Monsters" ( a collaboration game). We will take the District Pretest- (Collaborative Scene Building ) and start our start process drama about the evacuation of children from London during WWII.( working on understanding the setting and historical context:)
This week we will work on the climax scene and the Great Battle for Narnia. We will explore blocking a scene and stage combat. We will create "How" scenes which explain how something came to be in Narnia. This is an original scene and we will be working on creating a scene with exposition, climax and resolution.
This week in 6th grade drama we will work on Aslan's death and explore physical and vocal characterization. We will do the scene where they return to the witch's castle and we will work on creating original monologues.
