We will be welcoming students to a new fine arts rotation. We will learn about the expectations, gradings and activities in 7th grade drama. We will begin to explore the setting and characters of the novel "To Kill a Mockingbird." We will explore interpretive action in a scene.

This is our last week of drama together. 7th grade is finishing up To Kill a Mockingbird. We are work on the climax and resolution scenes. We are exploring stage combat, visual storytelling and dramatic tension. We hope to have a short time to explore the idea of exploring social justice through performance.
7th grade will be working on vocal techniques and the use of sound to create ambience. We will work on exploring character perspective. We will start to look at the climax of To Kill A Mockingbird.
In 7th grade, we will be working on a flashback scene. We will explore our essential question" What is worth fighting for?" We will look at how to pass focus in a "mob" scene and how to block a large scene. We will work on sound and the voice as we create a radio play.
This week in 7th grade we are working on building complexity into our characterization. We are looking at subtext and character objectives and motivations. We are also exploring the idea of a character's turning point and how the turning point functions in a plot structure.
