We will create an original scene inspired by one of the characters from the novel we are dramatizing. We will also look at character subtext.

We will learn about the curriculum, grading and rules. We will do some personal storytelling in a storytelling game. We will begin to be introduced to To Kill A Mockingbird by exploring the characters and setting. We will explore focus in a scene. We will work on blocking and staging in a scene.
This week we finished To Kill A Mockingbird. We looked at the climax of the story and explored visual storytelling.
This week we will be creating a radio play of the trial of Tom Robinson. We will explore how we can change our voice. We will also look at the climax of the novel/ play and work on visual storytelling.
This week we worked on creating a turning point. We discussed the historical background of the scenes in To Kill A Mockingbird. We began work on how playwright can have multiple subplots and use the theatre convention of a cross cut scene to show the action in each.
